One Cool Chick

It's rare that we catch Alexa with her sunglasses on anymore....she used to love them but now she just loves to take them off as soon as we put them on her!

10 Months Old

I can't believe we're getting so close to the 1 year mark...but here we are at 10 months already. Alexa has had a fun month. We went to Canada and she really got jealous of her older, more mobile cousins. She's now pulling herself up to stand against anything and everything and she's starting to "cruise" around furniture. It definitely won't be long before she's walking. She's talking alot more and will say "hi-dad" or "hi-dada" whenever I go to get her out of her crib. When I try to tell her it's "hi-mom" she just waves at me with her little hand. It's pretty cute. She waves all the time now when we say hi and bye and she'll give me objects if I ask her for them. She's really starting to understand me and even responds when I tell her no, although sometimes it's with a smile and then she goes right back to doing what I told her not to. We also finished nursing this month and Alexa did a fabulous job with the weaning process. She handled it great and drinks her formula from a sippy cup like a pro....that's right, no bottles for us! Anyways, that's about it for now. Check back often for more updates!

Climbing Higher

Alexa has learned how to climb up the stairs. Luckily, we have a gate at the bottom though so she rarely gets the opportunity to do so since she's still pretty fearless and would just turn and topple back down when she was done with climbing if we would let her.

Growing Up...

Holly Vadnais Kutsch gave Alexa this cute outfit and she looks sooooo grown up in. She's really getting to be a little girl and not a baby anymore.

Why am I yelling????

Alexa kept me laughing today....she would just constantly "yell" and "scream" to get my attention. I was trying to get things done on the computer, but had a hard time so I finally decided to take a video. She's really starting to interact with us now and will play patty-cake when I start to sing the song and waves "hi" and "bye" to everyone. It's so much fun!

Our trip to Canada....

For the Labor Day weekend, we travelled to Canada to visit my side of the family. It was fun to introduce Alexa to all her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandpas and grandmas...she was a big hit!! My little brother, Sam got home from his mission on August 16th, so it was fun to see him again after so long. There were a lot of new additions to the family since we last went to Canada and so that was great to see and meet everyone! We had a big family reunion and just partied for two days. My sister, Katrina, also blessed their newest baby, Nya, on Sunday. We enjoyed being there for that. We had a fabulous time but are grateful to be back in our own space and getting Alexa back on a routine, although Kevin is not happy to be back in school. :-) It's a necessary evil! Until next time...

Kentucky State Fair

We went to the Kentucky State Fair on August 25, 2007. It's always a treat to people watch!!! Alexa had a fun time even though we got poured on and we got to taste our first fried Snickers...yep, I said "fried"!!! We opted not to try it a couple years ago when we went thinking "how gross can these southerners get?"...but then decided to try it this year and OH MY!!! It was soooooooooo good. We're still dreaming about it! :-)

Crawling

9 Months Old!

We can't believe our baby girl is already 9 months old. She is just growing by leaps and bounds. After our trip to Arizona earlier this month, Alexa has gotten extremely more adventurous because she saw how mobile her older cousins were and she wants to be like them. So she has started crawling in, out, under, over and through everything. I've attached several pictures of this. Alexa's 2nd tooth has come in which can be seen in a couple of the pictures...she's such a ham with her toothy grin!! We had her 9 month doctor's appointment today and she's only gained 10 ounces since her 6 month appointment which puts her at 21 lbs and she's now 27 3/4 inches tall. She's really started to "talk" and Kevin's convinced she's saying "Dada" and knows what she's talking about. We're excited now to be heading to Canada next weekend to introduce Alexa to the Baker side of the family....she'll probably be walking after that after seeing even more cousins on the move! :-)
