July 20, 2007: 8 Months Old!

Alexa has really grown up this month. She's well on her way to crawling, she's gotten her first tooth, she's learned to clap and she just started playing peek-a-boo. She's so much fun to have around...always making us laugh with the silly things she does. She has her daddy wrapped around her finger and I love it....they have such a sweet relationship. She gets so excited when either one of us come in the room and it just makes our hearts melt. Until next month...

Crawling!!!!

Pretty as a Picture

Didn't mean for this picture to come out like this....but thought it looked pretty cool!

Playing with Daddy

Hi, my name is Skinny. My mom is skinny, my dad is skinny, even my pet dog is skinny. One day my mom said, "Skinny, can you smile?" I said, "Sure mom....SEE!!!"

Mmmmm....cookie!

I gave Alexa her first baby cookie. She LOVED it but it was pretty messy. She didn't seem to mind though and it kept her busy while we ate dinner, so we didn't mind either!!

My Baby and Me!!

Alexa LOVES her mommy! I love how her face lights up when I come in the room. We have so much fun together!

Playing the Piano

Our little Beethoven

Alexa has really started to enjoy "playing" the piano. When she gets fussy and nothing else will do, we sit her on the bench and she'll be happy as can be. We even took a video of it so you could see and hear our little prodigy!

Alexa's New Toy

We bought this turtle floaty for Alexa. It makes going to the pool sooo much easier on us since we don't have to hold her the entire time now. She loves being in the pool. After her initial trepidation, she's really taken to it and loves to splash and play! She didn't even get scared of the water when we completely dunked her! She just took it in stride....and coughed since she swallowed a bit of water!! :-)

Daddy's Little Helper

Kevin is in the middle of exams for the summer semester and so he spends a lot of time studying at the computer. As you can tell, Alexa enjoys helping him! She loves the computer and will stare at the screen and pound on the keyboard. Is she a Legal Assistant in the making????

Happy 4th of July 2007!

This was Alexa's first Independence Day so we took her to her first fireworks show on Saturday night. Keeping her up past her bedtime of 7:00 wasn't very easy. We let her take a late nap, but you could tell she was wondering what she was doing still awake. She seemed to handle the fireworks okay though. She got a little fussy...but I think that had more to do with being tired than being scared. We went with our friends, Ben and Waveney Taylor and their kids Rhys and Sydney. Then, yesterday, on the 4th we had dinner with our friends, Kirk and Amanda Graves. I made my 4th of July cake that has become a tradition in our family. Alexa looked adorable in her red, white and blue outfit and we thought the "I'm Independent" on her shirt suited her quite nicely!! She's a sweet little girl...but is really starting to show her personality. Happy Independence Day!
