Canada Trip: Part 5 - The Final Segment!

On Sunday, after the family reunion was over, we went to church in Cardston 1st Ward, the ward that I have the most attachment to from when we lived there, even though we were in Cardston 2nd Ward for the last bit before moving to Calgary.  It was fun to see a few familiar faces, especially my good friend, Leslie's parents.

After that, we drove back to Calgary to stay at my sister, Jenn's house for the last couple days of our trip.  Alexa and Payton LOVED hangin' out with their cousins!

On Monday, we went out to Stacey's new house in Airdrie for a quick visit.  It's weird for me to think that it wasn't all that long ago that Stacey and I were roommates, yet it seems like a lifetime ago all at the same time...and so much has changed.  But every time we see each other, it's like it always has been...I guess talking on the phone nearly every day helps with that.  :-)  I'm so grateful for the good friends I have been blessed with in my life!

And, once again, Bubba was a lil' tuckered out!

After visiting with Stacey, we headed to my niece, Nya's, birthday party.  The girls were sooooo excited to be able to go to that since they never get to attend their Canadian cousins' birthday parties!  And even though it was a rather chilly day for what us sun-lovin' Arizonans are used to...the girls jumped right into the lake and had a blast splashin' around with Gramma and their cousins!

Barrett was more than happy to just play in the sand!

And eat it too!

Grampa was showing them how to make funny faces of themselves on his Ipad.

Cousins!

Me and my mamacita!

Katrina and me with our mama!  Thanks Trina for letting us share in Nya's fun day!  And also for lettin' us bunk at your place our first couple nights in Canada!

Sisters...and mama!

The girls were soooo excited to get some fun Canadian things from Grampa!

Showing off their loot...don't let Alexa fool you, she really was excited about the presents from Gramps, she was just done with all the picture-taking! :-)

After Nya's party, we spent some time at my parents so the kiddos could just play since we were leaving the next day.  Auntie Beeta even came home and got in on the fun!

Then Auntie Beeta came back to Jenn's and got coerced into reading the girls bedtime stories...

...which ended like this!!  Hahaha...sorry Auntie Beeta!!

Our last day in Canada...the girls getting in some last playing time with their cousins!

Barrett didn't want to be left out!

Jenn and me with mamacita!  Thanks Jenn for having our crew disrupt your lives for a couple days.  We sure enjoyed ourselves!!

Gramma saying goodbye to Bubba!

Gramma and some of her cute grand kids!

Phewf....I think we made it to the end!  What a week we had.  Busy busy busy!  But a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for making our trip a great one.  We love you all and hope to see you again soon!

Canada Trip: Part 4 - Leavitt Family Reunion

While we were in Canada this past week, we were able to attend a family reunion on my mom's side of the family.  My sweet Grandma is 96 years old so we know there won't be many more opportunities to see her and to have my kids know her.  We are very grateful that we were able to spend some time with her.  Between her and my gramps, who passed away last year, I think they counted that they have 147 descendents.  Pretty darn iimpressive!

The girls loved the jumping castle and spent a fair amount of time playing with cousins in it!

My sister Shental and me, with her son Daniel (or Danny, as I like to call him, much to his dismay!!)

Barrett looked adorable, as usual, with the step-grandaughter of one of my cousins.  Yep, I have first cousins who are already grandparents.  Kinda crazy!

Isn't my grams just about the cutest little old thing?  She has been such a fabulous example to me throughout my life and I was so glad to be able to see her again.  Even though it was heartbreaking to witness the deterioration of her mind...each time I'd see her again, it was like she was seeing me for the first time and I'd have to re-introduce my kiddos to her.  Bless her heart.

There were a lot of games and activities for the kiddos to play...here's Payton participating in a balloon toss of some sort!

After taking a break from the reunion in order for Barrett to get in a nap, we took the kids to the temple, the Cardston Alberta Temple...where Kevin and I got married.  It was fun to take them there, walk around the grounds (even though it was drizzling and chilly), and show them where mommy and daddy got married.  The girls LOVED seeing a bride (or princess, as they called her) come out in her pretty dress!

And back to the reunion for more fun and activities.

Alexa and her Grampa.

Barrett with Gramma Jenny...my mom has issues with opening her eyes in pictures, apparently! :-)

One of the girls' favorite places was this little crawl space in my Aunt Marina's & Uncle Royce's house.  They loved it and we could usually find them in it...or the jumping castle.

We experienced a major downpour while we were there and the girls loved running in the rain.

And jumping in the rain.

My niece, Emma, with Bubba!

After the rainstorm, we got to witness this beautiful double rainbow.  It was a complete arch!

Cute cousins!

The last night of the reunion, there was a bit of a program in honor of my dear Grams!  Payton and her cousin, Lenaia, sang I Am a Child of God...so tender!

A BIG thank you to all my aunts, uncles and my parents...and everyone involved for putting this all together.  It was great to see everyone again and to have everyone meet my little family.  A special thank you to Royce and Marina for hosting this big event!   You guys rock! :-)

Canada Trip: Part 3 - Waterton

Another thing we did while in Canada that I've been wanting to do since we got married is go to Waterton Lakes National Park.  It's a big part of my growing up and I really wanted to share that with Kevin and the kids.  So before heading to the family reunion, we popped up to Waterton to play for the day and to meet up with my sister-in-law Christy and my niece, Sarah.  I haven't seen Christy since shortly after we got married, so it was a fun day!

The kids had fun at the splash park and park.

Barrett with my niece, Sarah.  What a cute duo!!

Christy, Payton and me...man, I've missed that lady!!

You can't go to Waterton and NOT go to Big Scoop! It's against the law.  Seriously!
Yum!!

And then we took the kids down to the lake.  It was freezing cold, just like I remembered!

But the view....breathtaking!

The Prince of Whales Hotel...
I always loved driving up to Waterton and catching a glimpse of that hotel!

My cute girlies!

And my handsome men!

Kevin wanted to get a picture of him and Barrett wearing their University of Arizona shirts so that he could email it to the athletic director for the UofA and hopefully get an appearance in the Weekly Wildcat....and it worked!!

Our little family in Waterton Lakes National Park!
It was a tad bit windy that day, especially up on the hill by the hotel!

Sarah, Christy and me!

And our last stop while in Waterton was Cameron Falls.  What a beautiful place!

I'm so glad I was finally able to take my family to one of my favorite places!
